Upon hearing Corinne Chapelle at the age of fifteen, Sir Yehudi Menuhin proclaimed her as, „one of the most promising talents of her generation.“At the age of ten, she was awarded first prize at the Mozart Competition in California. Following this she worked with Yehudi Menuhin after entering his school near London, which was succeeded by attending the Juilliard School of Music in New York, during which time she was invited by Pinchas Zukerman to take part in his Performance Program. She later participated in master classes with Josef Gingold, Lorand Fenyves,and Liana Isakadze.
Corinne Chapelle has been honoured with numerous awards including first prizes at the Julius Stulberg International String Competition, the First Prize of the Los Angeles Music Center Spotlight Awards, the First Prize of the International Music Fest Dietzenbach 2001, the Jascha Heifetz Violin Award, Second Prize of the First International Liana Isakadze Violin Competition 2003 in St. Petersburg, Russia and Fourth Prize of the Montreal International Violin Competition.
Ms. Chapelle has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe, Asia and the United States. She has been invited by orchestras such as the Polish Radio Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestre Symphonique de Tours, the Romanian State Symphony Orchestra, the Georgian Chamber Orchestra, the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, the Pacific Symphony Orchestra, the Ukranian State Symphony Orchestra, the Montreal Symphony Orchestra and the Cologne Chamber Orchestra with whom she performed at the Kölner Philharmonie, the Prinzregententheater in Munich and at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris.
Chosen to represent the United States as an International Ambassador of Music, Corinne Chapelle performed at the Senate Caucus in Washington, D.C. and gave the Chinese premier of the Barber Violin Concerto with the Beijing and Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestras.
Frequently invited by international music festivals as a soloist, chamber musician and to conduct master classes, she has appeared at the Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival in Finland, the La Jolla SummerFest in California, the Aspen Music Festival in Colorado, the Rheingau and Schleswig-Holstein Festivals in Germany, and the festivals of Carcassonne, La Baule and Mazauges in France. At the Salzburg Festival 2004 she appeared with great success in the commemoration event in honour of Wilhelm Furtwängler. She has collaborated and performed with artists such as Eduard Brunner, Liana Isakadze, Gary Hoffman, Franz Hummel, and Robert Kulek.
Highlights of Corinne Chapelle’s 2006 season are performances in the Great Hall of Zurich’s Tonhalle, at the Dvorak Hall in Prague with the Prague Chamber Orchestra and at the Dortmund Concert Hall (Konzerthaus) sponsored by the Mozart Foundation in celebration of Mozart’s 250th birthday. In summer 2007 she is looking forward to her debut as soloist of the Mozarteum Orchestra at the Salzburg Festival.
